You may recall that I am not the biggest fan of the Fourth of July due to my extreme fear of fireworks which I have discussed before (see here and here).
This year beside my TOTALLY RATIONAL AND NOT AT ALL CHILDISH fear of fireworks, we had another variable in the equation: Baby O.
Here's the math:
Baby O's bedtime = 7:00pm
When it gets dark outside = 9:00pm
Whether our neighbor's slacker twenty-something year old son would show up with his friends to drink beer and light fireworks literally just outside Baby O's window = x
Solve for x.
I was a nervous wreck all evening. Luckily the noise and concern that our house was going to burn down only bothered me. Baby O slept right through it. For added piece of mind, Husband downloaded a white noise app on his iPad and put it in Baby O's bedroom. Then we cranked up our huge in-wall air conditioner and crossed our fingers that he didn't wake up.
I swear if he had, I would have marched outside and demanded that those hoodlums come in and put him back to sleep!
The rest of the day was uneventful: some shopping and hanging out at home. It was too hot to be outside too long so no cookout for us!
I dressed everyone in red, white and blue outfits and tried to take a family photo. It took about fifteen minutes before we got one with everyone looking at the camera and no one trying to swat away Izzy, who kept leaping onto the couch for the photo. Per usual, Husband made me crop him out so the tiny sliver of blue you see is his shirt.
Me: Burnout Dot Tank, Anthropologie (on sale here) - my first Anthro purchase in a while but I needed a nice white tank for summer and this was on super sale so it fit the bill
Cardigan, Loft
Baby O: Fourth of July shirt, Carters
Shorts, JCPenney
Can you believe Baby O will be six months old in two weeks? Time absolutely flies! I officially quit my job and am looking forward to spending my days with him and watching him grow!
Happy Thursday!
