Today is Roger Taylor's 62nd birthday! Happy Birthday, Roger!
(I couldn't find a recent picture of Roger so I just used one of my favorites from a few years back when he appeared on The X Factor.)
Roger's always been very opinionated in his songs and way back in 1994, he included a song on his Happiness? album titled "Dear Mr. Murdoch". Here's a link to the lyrics which are, in typical Roger-fashion, "colorful".
Well since our boy essentially had a crystal ball as far as predicting some of the scandal that's gone on recently with the News of the World and some of Murdoch's other papers, he's decided to seize the opportunity for a little self-promotion and is re-releasing a new version of the song. Click here for a full story.
The new version is much softer and includes less studio effects than the original. I think I prefer it. Of course, because America doesn't exist in Roger's mind, it's not available for download over here, but if any of you lovelies across the pond want to figure out a way to get it to me, I'd greatly appreciate it!
Click here to purchase at Amazon or here to purchase at iTunes.
So Happy Birthday, Roger and for those of you who can download his new single: Enjoy!
Happy Tuesday!

very pretty song. Although I feel dumb saying the song is "pretty" after looking at the lyrics. lol. happy birthday roger!
ReplyDeleteI agree that the melody is pretty- something of an oxymoron, given the lyrics. I love the Lego versions of Queen even though it went by too quickly in the video.
ReplyDeleteI think this is the spot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=pecFVzIfCNA#t=65s
