I'm sad to report that there was another fashion casualty this week! First, on Monday, the gems started falling out of my totally adorable and brand new Me Too Precious Flats. I had grown concerned when I visited the Nordstrom website and discovered this message:
Did not meet quality standards? Hm. I assumed initially that Nordstrom was just being overly picky and thought nothing of it. Then two hours later, I noticed that two of the gems were missing from my shoes! Not cool! Luckily, Nordstroms has a legendary return policy so I'll have to traipse across town and return my pretty new shoes.
I'm so sad because these are the shoes that I wore to meet Dr. May. Obviously the awesomeness that was Dr. May was simply too much for the shoes! They knew that they'd never experience anything more amazing which lead to severe shoe depression and ultimately the decision to commit shoe-icide, which is never never the answer.
So in the midst of the ongoing mourning for my adorable new flats, my capris took a turn for the worst yesterday! They were two years old and cost $16 at Marshalls so the fact that I was able to wear them as many times as I had was pretty impressive. But then yesterday afternoon, the zipper broke!
I don't know what their excuse was. They've never met anyone cool!
To ease my pain, I ended up with a full shopping cart at Anthropologie and before I knew it, I had clicked "Submit Order". I imagine I'll be returning at least a few of these things but I really liked them and wanted to see them in person.
The Pinpointed Skimmers are completely adorable and will potentially replace the flats that I loved and lost...if they fit. I ordered a 10 which is a full size up from my regular size because the reviews say that they run small. Fingers crossed on these! I also realized that I didn't want to live in a world where I hadn't at least given the Mermaid's Rainbow Necklace a shot so that's on my way to me as I type this. And I don't know how it happened, but two full priced items snuck their way into my cart: the Gifted Skirt, which I knew I was going to order eventually, and the Rosy-Posy Posts in white. Aren't these earrings adorable? I've been all about posts lately since picking up the Bright Bulb Posts to meet Dr. May. Since I'm definitely returning my Double Torsade Necklace (for which I paid full price), that essentially means that the new earrings are free. Yay for shopping math!Today I got all dolled up for court only to have my case continued. Ooooh I hate that and it happens all the time! Thankfully, I got out rather quickly instead of having to sit around for hours only to find out that we don't have the right judge or an attorney is sick or there's no time for us to have a hearing. There has got to be a more efficient way to run a courthouse, but unfortunately I'm not in charge (not that I'd have any better ideas anyway!)

Today is our dog Abbie's 7th birthday! I'm going to pick up a puppy cake on my way home from work to celebrate. Abbie is such a good dog, but she's also kind of dumb. Izzy is definitely the mastermind behind any trouble they get into whereas Abbie is content to sit on her bed (meaning her personal dog bed, her crate, Izzy's personal dog bed which Abbie has confiscated, or the guest bed) or run around in the yard. Abbie's also not a big fan of affection unless it's on her terms although she was quite a snuggle-bug last night. Perhaps she's turning over a new leaf for her next 7 years!
Happy Birthday, Abbie!
I hope everyone is having a good week. I feel like it should be later than Wednesday, but the good news is that I've already done 2 of my 4 scheduled runs! Now I just need to do 2 more runs and 2 nights of yoga and I won't be subjected to public embarrassment in my Keep on Running post this weekend (click here)!
Happy Wednesday!

I'm sorry to hear that the gems on your flats fell out. Yes, Nordstrom has a very good return policy. Definitely take advantage of that.
ReplyDeleteHappy bday to Abbie. She's adorable!
Now, because I'm so lazy, I would have super-glued the gems back onto the shoes instead of returning them. Just because I wouldn't want to go all the way back to the store. :)
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is really cute! Your waist looks so tiny.
Happy birthday to Abbie! What a cutie!
Happy bday to your lovely and cute doggie! That's such an adorable picture. And I do love those posts! And at $28 they're not that bad. I just love that vagabond dress on you. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Doggie B-Day! And you look great in your Vagabond dress.
ReplyDeleteKathleen, your outfit looks amazing on you!! That cardigan is perfect with the dress, which was made for you.
ReplyDeleteI totally feel like it should be later than Wednesday, too. I'm trying to muster the motivated to do my spinning class tonight so I also won't be subject to public embarrassment on my training posts :)
Happy Birthday to your sweet Abbie!!
ahhh, bummer about the shoes but good thing you got them from nordstroms! Anywhere else and they might have hassled you about taking them back!
ReplyDeleteI love that you finally bit the bullet and bought the necklace, I can't wait for mine to arrive! Also, love your cardigan today, it goes great with the dress! i never would have guessed it was the vagabond!
I bought those me too shoes as well but in the teal suede. i LOOOVE them, they are such a pretty color and so comfy. but i also did notice that one of the gems had fallen out while i was wearing them around the house last week! luckily it was just around the house and not outside, so i was able to find it and superglue it back in. maybe i should take all the gems out and do that with all of them? i really love them and don't want them to fall apart...seems like such a hassle though! i love beaded and embellished clothes and shoes, but that's always the chance you take with them i guess. that's interesting to see nordstrom took them off the site altogther though...thanks for the info! sorry about your pair :(
ReplyDeleteSydney - Yes - so sad! I loved these shoes! I guess it wasn't meant to be! :(
ReplyDeleteMelissa - I totally would have superglued them too but I was at work and could't find them! Don't think that wasn't my first idea! Thanks re: the outfit. I'd forgoten how much I like this dress (it was at the cleaners forever and then with the challenge)
Cindi - I thought $28 was totally reasonable! I'm excited to see them for real!
Lisa - Thanks!
Erin - Thanks! I did my yoga so now it's down to two runs and one more yoga. We shall see! I hope spinning class was fun!
Jen - Thanks! Part of my buying it was seeing that you (and a few others ordered it) so I freaked out about it selling out and realized it had to be mine! We're all indirect enablders! LOL
Kate - I'd definitely reglue them. The two that I lost were both the rectangles that form the shape of an X. If I had found the gems, I would have reglued them, but sadly they are long gone. Good luck with yours (and I didn't see the teal - sounds pretty!
