You Don't Fool Me: What I Wore

So Husband, it turns out, is a total stinker! He had me completely convinced that our outing last night was work related but in reality it was a surprise mini-birthday party for me with two fellow princesses and two friends from law school. I was seriously 100% in the dark until we walked into the pottery place to find them sitting at the table waiting for us! I told him that I appreciate that he uses his powers of deception for good and not evil! He really had me totally fooled!

I took a long time selecting a pottery piece to paint. I kept going back to this pretty handheld mirror with a princess crown on top. At one point, I think the phrase, "Well the mirror is nice because it's practical..." came out of my mouth to everyone's amusement. I finally decided to paint the mirror and am excited to see how it came out when we pick the pieces up in a few days. I will, of course, post pictures! Then we went to a restaurant for dinner where we sat outside and dined in virtual darkness. There were no lights, candles, nada! I had to read the menu by holding up my iPhone to the text! It was a little ridiculous, but we had tons of fun!

We got home late (after 11pm), but I still ran my 4 miles this morning! Yay! It was much cooler and I was pleased with myself for getting the run done and not having it looming over my head this afternoon and tomorrow morning.

I've been in court all day. I had a quick thing, but then picked up a new case which took eons longer than it should have. I had a hard time getting dressed this morning. I started off in black capris, but ended up feeling too casual so I put on the pencil skirt instead. I'm glad I did since I ended up in court for the whole morning.

  4. Ady - This is one of those sweaters that I loved online for SOOO long that there was seriously nothing that was going to keep me from owning it. I'm glad it lived up to my expectations - I love it!

Ashley - Yeah Husband's great. I'm very lucky and I know it. Thanks re: the outfit! :)

Suz - I'm not sure why they got rid of the multi-colored altogether. Usually they add a color not replace. I'm not crazy about the blue either so I'm glad I snatched this up when I saw it in my store.

  5. I saw this Seth Godin quote and thought of you...

In a long distance race, everyone gets tired. The winner is the runner who figures out where to put the tired, figures out how to store it away until after the race is over. Sure, he's tired. Everyone is. That's not the point. The point is to run.

  6. Victoria - Great quote! Thanks for posting it! One of my favorites is my John Bingham who is affectionately nicknamed "The Penguin" (because he's not terribly fast - although he stills runs like 10 min/miles in a marathon!): It was being a runner that mattered, not how fast or how far I could run. The joy was in the act of running and in the journey, not in the destination.
