Come Sale Away: What I Wore

Well, folks, I officially have 100 followers (plus one to spare!) so that means I'll be running my Princess of Taylor's 100 Follower Giveaway post this evening! I'm very excited and hope you all are too!

I checked out today's Anthropologie sale before my run this morning and initially wasn't very impressed. Then I sat down in my office to really study what had been marked down and all of a sudden my shopping cart had $400 worth of stuff in it! Yikes! Needless to say, I culled my haul down to a more reasonable price.

I decided to pick up the Pop of Posies Halter which I was seriously ready to buy full price, but then spotted the Night Skating Top instead. I also ordered the Heat Wave Shorts in green which are the reason behind my current patterned short obsession. $58 for shorts was a bit pricey, but $29.95? Now you're talking Anthropologie! I also had the elusive Buds & Bunches Tee in Orange in my cart for about three minutes, but I was too slow and it sold out. Arg!

I also ordered the Midnight Cygnus Skirt for my sister who has been patiently waiting for a second markdown for like six months! It was originally $278 and then the first markdown to $139. Still pretty expensive and there weren't even online reviews for her to read! She's stubborn, like me, so she didn't bite! This morning, it was finally down to $69 which is much more reasonable. But now this week, she's working at a day camp and not near a computer. I was so sad that she might miss out on the skirt so I went ahead and ordered it for her. Luckily Anthropologie is running their free shipping promotion through Labor Day so if she hates it (or doesn't even want it after all), I'm not out the cost of shipping.

I'm at the point with my runs that I'm seriously wondering which would be better conditions: 65 degrees with 90% humidity at 6am or 90 degrees with 35% humidity at 6pm. The last two mornings have been downright miserable. My pace is so slow and by the time I'm done, I look like I just ran through the pouring rain and then was hit by a bus. This morning I had to stand in front of our air conditioner for ten minutes to cool down. Why did I agree to another fall half marathon? I hate summer training and it hasn't even technically begun yet!

Part of me wants to put off my morning run on Thursday and find out. The other part of me already knows the answer which is why I dragged myself out of bed this morning.
Buds & Bunches Tee, Anthropologie, size Medium
Neapolitan Cardigan, J. Crew, size Medium
Charter Club Capris, Macy's, size 14
Kenneth Cole Reaction Sandals, Macy's, size 9
Necklace, Honora for QVC
Bracelet, Pandora

This morning, one of my charms slid off my bracelet and fell on the floor in my bedroom. Luckily the dogs were in another part of the house, but I spent a good five minutes sliding around on the floor looking for it! I'm told there are spacer beads for these bracelets that hold the charms in place so it definitely seems like I need some of those! This necklace was a Christmas gift a few years back - I sent my dad the link to this necklace on the QVC website and he ordered it. My dad is a very funny gift giver - occasionally he is very observant and hits it out of the park with something you really wanted (even though you may not have realized you really wanted it) and sometimes he buys the goofiest stuff and then "wraps" it in the plastic bag from the store where he purchased it! Too funny!

Happy Tuesday everyone and stay tuned tonight for Princess of Taylor's 100 Follower Giveaway!

  1. I was so excited to see the It's Your Move skirt on sale - I love it, I just didn't see myself needing ANOTHER white skirt so I didn't want to pay FP. I love those shorts, too...I think I'll keep an eye out for them at my store...

  4. I so nearly bought the Pop of Posies Top but I've already bought three skirts this morning! Managed to track down the Pencilled Abronia Skirt in Boston and ordered the It's Your Move and Lava Flow Skirts online. Oh dear. There's still more stuff I 'need' :s

  5. Ashley - The It's Your Move Skirt has definitely been tempting me too. I wish the background color was anything but white!

Ady - I hope she likes it too! It was already on sale, but today had a second markdown. You probably were just glazing over it in the sale section because it was seriously there FOREVER!

Robin - I'll ask my sis to take a picture when she tries it on! I went back and reread my original review of the Posies top and I really did love it so I'm glad I snatched it up today!

British Anthropologiest - Yay for the Penciled Abronia Skirt! I love mine! Now I'm eyeing some shoes on sale - this sale is turning out to be rather dangerous for my wallet!

  6. Yay, I'm so excited you got the Heatwave shorts! I love mine and got them in both prints. The white plaid are strangely very versatile and instant outfit makers!

  7. Lisa - My shorts arrived yesterday and I love them! My store didn't have the green so I didn't know what the pattern would be like in person, but it's great! I didn't get the blue anchors since I got very similar blue shorts from Ann Taylor Loft (when I originally decided that $58 for shorts was insane!) I can't wait to wear them on vacation!
