Today is a sad sad day, dear readers. Why, you ask? Today I discovered that my beloved Scalloped Dots Skirt is not work appropriate without tights.
Blouse, Ann Taylor, size 10 (from fall 2008)
Cardigan, Ann Taylor Loft, size Medium (from spring 2009)
Scalloped Dots Skirt, Anthropologie, size 14 (from winter 2009)
Shoes, Naturalizer, size 9 (from spring 2007)
I had a sneaking suspicion that the Scalloped Dots Skirt wouldn't be court appropriate without tights so I specifically wore it today - I just had a few meetings. I sat through the first meeting (a home visit) without taking my Two Paths Trench off so no issues there. It was the second meeting that I noticed the problem. For some reason, while the skirt is a totally appropriate length while standing, while sitting, it's a whole other issue. As I sat with my legs crossed, the skirt creeped further and further up my leg resulting in my having to tug it down several times. Very professional, I'm sure! Also very upsetting is that one of the men in the room noticed my plight and was quite interested in my situation. Nice.
Without tights, I won't be able to wear this little pretty to work again until September at the earliest! And I'm racking my brain trying to come up with a non-work outing worthy of the skirt during the summer months. This definitely seals the deal that I am going to have to buy the Ikat Blossoms Print Skirt and the Woodblock Print Skirt immediately because my pretty patterned summer skirt collection is down to one! Unacceptable!
