Because it is a scientifically proven fact that retail therapy can improve someone's mood, I may or may not have made a few online purchases yesterday afternoon.
Woodblock Print Skirt long enough and it hasn't shown up in my store. The stock online has also been dwindling dangerously low recently (and since my beloved Penciled Abronia Skirt just sold out without ever hitting stores), I have to admit, I was getting a little antsy. Since I was going to have to pay for shipping anyway, I added a few extra things to my cart to soften the blow (especially if I end up not even liking the skirt!) I picked up the Ludi V-Neck in Sky (which makes me laugh every time I think of the name because it reminds me of 30 Rock and Ludi-Christmas!), the Creative Outlet Tank in navy which I had in my hands over the weekend, but then freaked out and didn't buy (look out for my review later in the week), and the Buds & Bunches Tee in beige (which I tried on ages ago, didn't like and then retried on again this weekend and fell in love!)
I also decided that the 30% off Friends and Family promo at Ann Taylor Loft justified me making my inevitable purchases (see here), but then I also spotted these shorts which are similar to (and cheaper than) the Heatwave Shorts at Anthro so I threw them in the cart too so I could get free shipping which is basically my main goal in life.
here) and since I've convinced Husband that to go to the concert in a few weeks, I should probably have actually ever heard some of their songs. I won't address whether I also finally purchased Fun in Space, RT's first solo CD, and I have absolutely no comment on whether I qualified for free shipping by purchasing one more goodie for a giveaway I'm planning at the beginning of next month!
*Squee* so much shopping excitement and now comes the best part - obsessively checking the UPS website waiting for estimated delivery dates and then rushing home in the afternoons to check out my packages! Yay!
I've been really having a hard time dressing this week due to the weather - the day starts off kind of chilly and then warms up a ton in the afternoon. Bare legs in the morning are a bit uncomfortable but by the end of the day, I'm positively roasting and ready to toss my jacket and long sleeves out the window!
Sweater, Ann Taylor, size Large (from winter 2009)
Skirt, Ann Taylor, size 10 (from spring 2007)
Shoes, Target wedges, size 10 (still too big and slightly uncomfortable, but I'm working on it!)
Necklace, Banana Republic
When I got out this sweater this morning, I realized it is the exact same color as the Ludi V-Neck that I just bought so clearly I have a thing for this color! This sweater is cashmere so it is right on the verge of weather-appropriateness right now. I can't see wearing it too much longer so the Ludi V-Neck will arrive just in time to give me some pretty Tiffany blue in my summer wardrobe. This is another skirt that I've tossed in the donation pile many times only to retrieve it weeks later. The waist is too big so I can't tuck anything into it, but the rest of the skirt fits fine and I like the little flare at the bottom so I refuse to let it go!
I'll try to get my act together and post my second batch of Anthropologie reviews either tonight or tomorrow! Until then - Happy Hump Day!
