Peyton Manning might as well have been stuffed into his locker before the game. I think he was on the field for a total of 2 minutes during the second quarter. And he wasn't even in any of the commercials - something about him being too busy practicing for the big game and not having enough time to don a funny wig and hawk cell phones. Lame.
As for Queen, well I think someone may have been playing a little joke on Dr. May because I did not hear a We Will Rock You - E.S. Posthumus mashup. I saw an E.S. Posthumus collaboration with Jay-Z and Rihanna that they played twice, but no Queen. I'm going to continue to look for it online since I didn't start watching yesterday until 6pm and it may have been aired only prior to that point. If I find it, I'll post a link, but I'm not holding my breath!
So, overall, the SuperBowl was a bust (not surprisingly). Husband, on the other hand, is thrilled because the Colts lost and he won our bet which means that he does not have to buy me the Wheaties box featuring Peyton Manning or Rock Band cymbals and drumsticks. I'll be honest, folks, despite losing the bet, I'm probably going to get both of those things anyway!
Although as a side note, was it just me or was Ronnie Dobbs playing drums for The Who during their halftime show?

Eerie, isn't it?
So what am I wearing as I sit in my office licking my wounds from yesterday's heartbreak?
Shirt, Ann Taylor Tuxedo Blouse, size 8 (still may be available in stores)
Dress, Ann Taylor, size Large (from fall 2009)
Tights, Hue
Boots, Matisse, size 9.5 (available here)
Necklace, Kohl's
Earrings, QVC (similiar here)
I love the little lacy ruffles peeking out of the sleeves. That in combination with the imminent purchase of my cymbals will make me a happy happy girl despite wasting four hours of my life yesterday and seeing minimal Peyton Manning and no Queen!

yeah, after I saw the Jayz thing, and some will.i.am thing, i was waiting for the queen song, too! maybe it was on during the pregame stuff or something? Anywayz, Cute dress! You look very cozy and chic. I am still too big a weenie to wear any dresses lately because it's SO COLD! I really like those slouchy boots too. I need me some of those...
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I'm not alone in my mourning! I started thinking I was the only Colts fan because I was seriously in the minority here. I love your outfit! I'm going to need to seek out the blouse.
ReplyDeleteYeah I think most people were rooting for the Saints - I'm getting tons of grief (especially living in New England AKA Patriots territory). I adore the tuxedo blouse - once I got the right size, it has turned out to be surprisingly versatile. I think they are on sale for like $20 now too!
